Hello once again. My name’s Mark and in this first article I’ll be covering different ways you can transform your hallway, or living room in fact, to look like a ballroom. Yes, it might sound like quite a large claim, but trust me, follow my advice and all your friends and family will be incredibly jealous of the new and transformed entrance to your home.
There are many things to consider when renovating any room in your house, as a room is of course made up of many different parts. Firstly lets talk about flooring. I never really enjoy the look of carpeted hallways. Plush wooden floors or posh tiles are a much better look and are the first step in making it look more like a ballroom.
Next up you need to think about your furniture. I always enjoy having some form of dresser in my hallway. It’s the case when buying anything in life really, but the more money you have when it comes to this the better. If you can afford it, splash out on a mahogany dresser. They look incredible and are just such a nice piece of furniture to keep your everyday keys and correspondence in. One of these coupled with a mirror is also a great look too.
Next up we need to think about the walls. A classy wallpaper is imperative, and I don’t know what it is, but I always prefer a wallpaper that has a deeper colour, like mauve or some sort of rich purple. If you can, couple these with some candle-esque wall lights. If a posh look is what you’re going for then this will definitely fit the bill.
Finally you need to think about you centre light piece, i.e. the main light fitting that will be hanging from the centre of the ceiling. Like most ballrooms, I can never say no to a chandelier. What people don’t know is that you can actually buy some chandeliers fairly inexpensively and don’t have to spend a huge amount of money. Remember to go for a light fitting that is energy efficient.
Getting one will most definitely complete the look. After everything is sorted, that’s exactly when you need to throw a party so you can show off the new room to all of your friends.
